Kolona beach

Kanala beach

Merichas coast
Merichas is a coastal settlement on the island of Kythnos
Merichas is located within the Local Community of Dryopida in the Cyclades Prefecture. Situated on the western side of the island, it lies 7 kilometers away from Chora (Kythnos).
Its name is believed to originate from the plant ereiki (heather) or myriki (tamarisk). Today, it serves as the island's main port, offering ferry connections to Piraeus and Lavrio.
Merichas
Vryokastro is located to the north of Merichas, while the historic church of Panagia Flampourianis lies to the south.
The port of Merichas was officially constructed in the 1970s; prior to this, ships would anchor outside the bay, and passengers were transferred to the island via small boats and caiques. In the year 2000, new port infrastructure was built to accommodate large passenger vessels, greatly facilitating travel for both locals and holidaymakers.
